, they insisted the election return obama to the white house and the gop return to the house requires both parties to come together in a fairground. but we know that didn't happen. i think everybody is aware, right, that it is the gerrymandering that has returned -- what they are calling middle ground is not middle ground, right? >> it isn't middle ground and there wasn't a dead locked election. they forget a couple of things number 1 that there was an election, and the people spoke and number two if you look at every survey -- i guess the second point is in this campaign there was a clear, clear outline by the president of where he stood, no secret. there had to be a continuation of the middle class tax cut, and an end of the tax cut for the very wealthy in -- in 2010 they got over 90%, the upper 1% -- 90% over that of the income growth, and the third point, the surveys show after the election all of them -- that if you ask people should there be continuation of the middle class tax cuts? yes. should there be a continuation of the tax cuts for the very wealthy? no.

. the election may be over but many of president obama's supporters are not ready to call it quits just yet. obama for america is out with a new poll this week surveying one million obama voters and they found 80% want to continue volunteering. that will most likely be around the president's legislative agenda. the survey found one out of every ten people is interested in running for office and almost half forwarded obama campaign e-mails at some point during the race. this poll is part of the campaign's efforts to put a huge list of resources and contacts to use after the election. former manager jim messina says yes, the group will live on but it will not get passed on to the next democratic nominee. bill clinton is also reaching out to his supporters. in this case, he's asking them to help pay down hillary clinton's campaign debt from 2008. as of the end of september she still owed $73,000. the incentive here, clinton is offering the chance for donors to spend the day with him if they can help pay down his wife's debt befor

seven weeks off. we will have an election and let the people decide. president obama went out in front of the american people. there was one issue, the central issue. it wasn't the war in iraq iran's nuclear possibility of iran getting nuclear weapons it wasn't peace in the middle east. it wasn't immigration reform. the number 1 was issue was president obama said very clear, we want the wealthiest two percents of americans to pay more in tax after having 12 years of a special tax break, which was only supposed to be temporary. if you say yes vote for me. mitt romney says, no, we are going to caudle, protect that top 2%. we are not going to raise their taxes. so if you say no, vote for me. that was a choice. the american people overwhelmingly, overwhelmingly, margin of 5 million, voted for president obama. john boehner is acting as if we never had an election in the first place and the election doesn't mean anything. is the senator has passed a tax break and john boehner is saying no, we will let 98% of americans pay $2,000 more in taxes. we wi

know firsthand that every election carries a lot of messages, but president obama himself has concluded that the one just past was sort of an impetus to get the middle class back together financially and otherwise. and as governor of michigan, the best thing that we could do for this nation right now as you know former governor of michigan is to get balance back in the work force. and i think there were very strong messages that the nation, as evidenced by votes in your old home state of michigan, ohio pennsylvania, really throughout the industrial midwest, was saying to the congress specifically, we need a manufacturing policy of our own. we need to have as many as two and a half times more women and men in the manufacturing sector, governor than we have today. and they have to be paid fairly, they have to have fair trade policies that sustain their employment. we just have to get this economy as you said repeatedly, back in balance and that's probably the best place to start. >> jennifer: totally agree. totally agree
